Ola Electric : An Indian Revolution, Made for the World

Climate change is happening, as is the need to counteract it. The true challenge is how we can reverse climate change while yet progressing as a nation.

The number of two-wheelers sold in India today accounts for approximately 80% of all automobiles sold on the market. However, only 12% of Indians own a two-wheeler. Every year, these vehicles burn more than 12,000 barrels of fuel and contribute to 40% of air pollution in the world. It is critical that we make the transition from gasoline to electric vehicles as soon as possible.

It is however important to keep in mind that a move of this magnitude requires global scale and quality production. With the help of the Ola Future factory, the world’s largest 2W factory, they have been working on just that, and today they are bringing it to market with the help of the factory. In a nutshell, it is a revolution on two wheels.

The upfront cost of the Ola S1 is also one of the major problems that have impeded the expansion of the EV sector in India. With a price tag of Rs 99,999, the Ola S1 is a groundbreaking product. Prices in this listing are ex-showroom and include the FAME II subsidy as well as any state incentives, but they do not include the sales tax.

Highlights and Noteworthy Facts About the Company

Ola enters a PLI deal with the Ministry of Heavy Industries to manufacture indigenous battery cells.

As the only Indian EV company selected by the government for the production of advanced cells under its ambitious Rs 80,000 crore cell PLI plan, Ola Electric received the maximum capacity of 20 gigawatt hours for its bid in March. With the assistance of the ACC PLI plan, India will become self-sufficient in the EV value chain by localizing the most crucial components. Also, the company is looking for top cell R&D talent all over the world, and it is planning to hire 500 PhDs and Engineers in the coming weeks.

It is the first time that Ola has introduced an indigenously manufactured lithium-ion battery in India.

It is the cell that is at the heart of the EV revolution. Currently, Ola is in the process of building the most sophisticated cell research facility in the world, which will allow us to expand and develop more quickly, as well as manufacture some of the most advanced and affordable EV goods in the market today. With Ola’s future Gigafactory scheduled to open in 2023, Ola will be able to manufacture its cell in mass quantities.

Conclusion

Ahead of the onset of the new year, Ola is taking the opportunity to unveil a new initiative called ‘Mission Electric,’ which commits to no petrol two-wheelers being sold in India after 2025. In fact, this is a goal that has been presented to industry and customers alike to reject fuel in favor of all-electric vehicles.

The time has come for India to lead the way in electrification and develop future technologies that will benefit the entire world!

The road ahead is not going to be easy, but we can and must work together to overcome this obstacle. There is no doubt that the climate requires it, the world desires it, and the country is well deserving of it.
