Distribution channels, also known as marketing channels, are the pathways through which products or services move from the manufacturer or producer to the end consumers.

Direct sales involve selling products or services directly from the manufacturer or producer to the end consumer. This can occur through physical retail stores, company websites, or other owned and operated sales channels.

Retail distribution involves selling products through third-party retail stores. Manufacturers or wholesalers supply products to retailers who then sell them to consumers. Retail distribution can be through brick-and-mortar stores, online retail platforms, or a combination of both.

2. Retail Distribution

In this channel, manufacturers sell their products in bulk quantities to wholesalers who, in turn, sell to retailers or other businesses. Wholesalers typically purchase large volumes of products at a discount and then distribute them to a network of retailers.

3. Wholesale Distribution

Agents or brokers act as intermediaries between manufacturers or producers and buyers. They represent the manufacturer's products to potential customers, negotiate sales, and earn a commission on each sale. This distribution channel is often used in industries like real estate, insurance, and some international trade transactions.

4. Agent or Broker Distribution

E-commerce distribution refers to selling products or services through online channels. This can include selling through a company's own website, as well as on popular online marketplaces like Amazon, eBay, or Etsy. Many businesses use a combination of their e-commerce site and third-party online marketplaces to reach a broader audience.
